LOW ROADSIDE ACOUSTIC BARRIERS

Here at Z-bloc Norden AB we are proud to say we have been involved in a long-running project aimed at developing a low acoustic barrier that will blend unobtrusively into the urban environment. The project began in January 2014 and is planned to run for four years. The participants are Stockholm Municipality’s transport and environmental departments, Tyréns AB, Konstfack University College of Arts, Crafts and Design, Stockholm University and Z-bloc Norden AB.

Within the project, during May 2015 test measurements were carried out on a low acoustic barrier located in Kungsholmen, Stockholm. This was done so that we could evaluate the actual performance of a low acoustic barrier in a traffic environment. For the purposes of these measurements, Z-bloc Norden’s Soundblock railway barrier was used. We are currently collating this data.
More information will follow as the project progresses.
